SINGLE LIFE
Our singles are connected with others all over the Midwest and
nation, and participate in many exciting events and conferences as they
build Christ-like relationships among one another.
Today's teens can have a rough time with the temptations affronted them on a daily basis. Only through our strong family ministry, with teens as equal partners, can we create a mechanism to help them fight back against all the pressures they face.

It looks like winter is finally starting to loosen its icy grip (at least for now) and it seems like the church calendar is starting to warm up as well. There are a lot of events coming up for us to consider. That’s a good thing. I think it’s good to have several options.

Last week we introduced our new worship band, “Jubal”, and started talking about what the Bible teaches about the focus of our hearts as we sing in worship. You will notice that this week, the band is not playing. That is because we are still new and with all our guitarists either out of town, at the campus service or on injured reserve (because one slipped on the ice and broke his hand “ouch”) the band couldn’t play this week.

Today marks another milestone in the Champaign church -- the inauguration of our very first Worship Band. For years this church has praised God in song. Starting out and following the traditions of our churches, this was done a cappella (without musical instruments). Later, after further and deeper review of the scriptures, we understood that it was not unbiblical to sing with musical instruments and accompaniment was added. Sometimes with a guitar here & there or possible a piano and, more recently, through the use of iWorship videos that we would sing along with (some affectionally call this “Christian Karaoke”).
