- Yard work—As we prepare for spring, we
will have on-going opportunities to help with
yard work at each of our group homes. In
addition to helping out, it will be a great way
to get outside and enjoy the weather as it
warms up. Hours are flexible in late March
and early April.
- Cleaning gutters at group homes—As the
seasons change, we need help preparing for
the spring months. What better way to help
than by volunteering to clean out the gutters
and make sure our homes are ready for
spring. Flexible hours during April.
- Volunteer in computer lab (some training
required) - DSC consumers love using the
computer lab for learning and fun. We need
volunteers to help staff the computer lab to
increase the availability to consumers. This
is an on-going volunteer opportunity with
flexible hours.
- Share a novelty hobby—DSC consumers
always enjoy learning new hobbies. Let us
know if you have a special interest and
would like to spend an afternoon sharing it.
Examples may be a magic show, karaoke, a
simple arts and craft project, or a sing-along.
No specific date necessary.
- Help organize community outings—We are
always looking for new places to take our
consumers whether it’s a trip to a local museum
or a destination of interest. If you have
an idea for something they might like, help
us organize it.
- Washing windows at group homes—DSC
staff always needs help cleaning the group
homes, especially the windows. If you are
interested in helping with some home maintenance
projects, let us know. Flexible hours
available.
- Shoveling walk ways at group homes—
Clean sidewalks and driveways are especially
important for the safety of DSC consumers
during the winter months. Help us
reduce the risk of accidents by shoveling
snow during the winter months. Opportunities
available following snowfall.
