Midwest Teen Prom: Northern Lights

Come join us for a celebration of “Northern Lights” at the Brookfield Zoo on May 13th, 2017.

Teens should plan to arrive between 4:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. prepared for an evening of dinner and dancing! The evening begins with a time of gathering and pictures around the Zoo’s Discovery Center. Parents will be dismissed by 6:00 p.m. so the teens can take the tram to the Underwater Bear Viewing Area to mingle with the animals and enjoy refreshments. Teens will then return to the Discovery Center for a three-course dinner and dancing. The evening will conclude at promptly 11:00 p.m.

Note: It is important that teens arrive at the zoo by 5:45 p.m. Latecomers will not be able to participate in the appetizers and the underwater bear viewing.

Midwest Teen Camp: True Identity

This year we will look deeply into God’s “True Identity” and deepen our convictions about being who God wants us to be. Campers will enjoy swimming, basketball, sand-volleyball, paintball, crate stacking, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, starlight devotionals and of course there are always some amazing surprises!

Teen Camp registration has begun. Register early! Each year we have families disappointed to find out their session of camp is full.

Registration is live at WWW.CHICAGOCHURCH.ORG

"If you've ever said: Why can't I overcome my anger?

Why do I feel like I have no control?

Why do I feel guilty all the time?

Why can't I change?"

As Christians, we can struggle again and again with the same thing, not realizing that our struggle is rooted in what we believe about ourselves, God or others.  Our deeply held beliefs may actually be lies that we accepted as truth at some point in our past.  These lies can become strongholds in our lives and lead to discouragement, codependency, bad habits and addiction.

Two couples from our church, Kevin and Jane Kuppler and Dave and Lisa Miller, will be leading a group through the "Spiritual Discovery" Bible study which will help identify what you believe and discover the truth that will demolish strongholds in your life. The Kupplers and Millers have personally realized their need for this study and are using its 7 Principles for Spiritual Growth to examine their own beliefs about God.

If you would like more information or are interested in being part of this group, women should contact Jane or Lisa and men should contact Kevin or Dave.

Kevin: (217) 621-9249

Jane: (217) 621-4903

Dave: (217) 621-3996

Lisa: (217) 390-6940

This group will begin meeting on a weekly basis as soon as it can be organized."
