The following Prayer request comes from our brothers and sisters in Guatemala ...
"A few weeks ago we were asked to de-occupy the Church building. After several attempts to renovate the contract the owner delayed this until we were notify that he sold the building to another person. The rent went up high and we are in the middle of finding solutions, since the current rent is not affordable.
We don´t have a place to move yet, we are looking for other places already. Unfortunately similar buildings with the same dimensions are extremely expensive, even more than the increased rent we are asked to pay now. That´s why we believe the dates are good, but we don´t know where or how we will be by that time.
Please pray for the Church in Guatemala and for HOPE Guatemala that God can show us where He wants us to be. And please pray that we can find a place to meet all together soon. If we don´t find it, we will have to set HOPE offices in a place and the Church building in a different one."
They need your prayers for God to lead them to a better meeting space to house not only the church, but also the dental and medical clinics!
Steve Martin also adds to this prayer request ...
This loss, although material, adds to the stress already experienced by the church this year thus far. Added to this is the fact they had 7 deaths in the congretion; 2 of which as a result of an act of murder.
The last 2 left two families with a wife and 3 children each without a husband and father. One, Marita was/is the church custodian. At each brigade Ive been to she was always running around smiling, very busy cleaning and responding to any need that might arise. At this past brigade I would see her working, then in tears...it was heartbreaking.
The other family left a wife and 3 children as well, but in this situation the wife has never had any type of employment.
In speaking with Alex at the brigade on Sunday, he said he felt so weary as a result of these losses
